Peacock Tunic, Ottobre 1/2011

I really like the way the Ottobre patterns are displayed on their little models. Nice colors and mixing fabrics etc BUT that's not me. I really can't mix colors as they do. So I sticked to what I know most i.e. plain fabric! No peacock applique, no buttons, I kept the back ruffles and I used a striped knit. I tried to align the stripes (I said "tried" since the back is cut in 2 parts, we'll say that's good every two stripes!) I was amazed at the sizing. I usually sew a size 7 or 8 (122 or 128 for Ottobre) since she has long arms.... [Lire la suite]

Monday's To-Do List #3

Ottobre's Peacock Tunic went beyond my expectations. I still have troubles with gaping necklines, I really need to find a way to sew them properly. I also tried the rolled hem with my serger! What fun it is and so easy. I am totally convinced that I did well waiting to have enough money to buy my Janome 744d, with its free arm. Miss G will be 8 late March and she's a Frozen addict. So I decided to sew her a dress from the movie and she chose the Elsa's dress...and also the others!!! I'm currently drafting a pattern for that dress... [Lire la suite]
